There are many risks in my project. In simply writing any kind of news story you have to be very careful to get it right. We might need to get libel insurance!

But there are other specific challenges that exist in small communities, in native communities, in our communities.

We also must be careful of not doing what other news type publications are already doing in their communities. We don't want to do what they are doing, they serve one purpose and we are also working to include them. We don't want steal their advertisers or compete with them.

I'm not sure what our contingency plan would need to consist of... one thing I'm sure of is that everyone involved will need to discuss and evaluate their own opinions, biases and emotions about certain issues and learn where we might make certain mistakes without realizing it. We have to learn to maintain a certain level of trust and credibility with the people we will be working with and for.
